The Charla platform: agentic AI assistants for your company

Charla is the platform where your company builds, connects, and ships agentic AI assistants, each with its own instructions, knowledge, and access, ready to serve across multiple channels.

Charla is a platform for companies to build agentic AI assistants: assistants that don't just answer, but decide what to do to get to the answer, choosing when to search the knowledge base, which tool to use, which system to query. Instead of a single generic chatbot, your company runs as many assistants as it needs, each one specialized for a team, a product, or an audience.

What makes a Charla assistant “agentic”?

The difference is in how the assistant handles knowledge. In an ordinary chatbot, snippets of documents are passively injected into the conversation in the hope they'll be useful. In Charla, search is a tool: during the conversation, the assistant decides whether and when it needs to look something up, and formulates the query itself. This is agentic retrieval, and the result is more relevant, grounded answers, anchored in what your company actually published.

Answers arrive as streaming, word by word, in real time. And the assistant never exposes its raw internal reasoning: the person sees a clear, final answer, not the model's backstage.

Many assistants, each isolated

Every Charla assistant is an independent unit with its own configuration:

  • Its own instructions: the personality, tone, and rules that define how that assistant behaves.
  • Its own knowledge base: it only sees the documents you assigned to it.
  • Its own access list: you control who can talk to each assistant.

That way the HR assistant doesn't get tangled up with the sales one, and one team's content never leaks into another's. One assistant per need, with no mixing of contexts.

How does Charla use your knowledge?

You feed each assistant your company's material: documents, spreadsheets, and images. Charla indexes everything and uses hybrid search, combining meaning-based search (which understands the intent of the question) with keyword search (which finds exact terms). The assistant can bring back images from the base and query tables to answer with data, not just text.

From that collection, Charla also synthesizes a knowledge “wiki,” organizing what the assistant knows into a navigable body (a feature proposed for your review).

What tools does the assistant already include?

Every Charla assistant is born with a set of built-in tools it triggers on its own, as the question requires:

  • Math: exact calculations, no guessing at numbers.
  • Knowledge-base search and lookup of specific documents.
  • Table queries: questions about your data answered with your data.
  • Web search and current date and time.
  • Image generation and chart rendering.
  • Structured export: delivering the result in the format you need.

How do you extend what the assistant can do?

When the out-of-the-box tools aren't enough, Charla lets you extend the assistant in two ways. With custom skills, you package your own instructions and reference files into a capability the assistant loads on demand: for example, following one of your company's procedures or applying a specific document template. With MCP connections, you link the assistant to external tools and systems via the Model Context Protocol, the open standard for this kind of integration.

The assistant decides when to search, which tool to use, and which system to query. You define what it can do; it figures out how.Charla

Where do your customers find the assistant?

An assistant is only worth it if it's where people already are. That's why Charla publishes the same assistant across multiple channels:

  • The Charla web app, for internal use by your teams.
  • WhatsApp, to reach customers where they already chat.
  • A public, shareable chat link, with no installation.
  • An embeddable widget, to drop the assistant into your own website.

It serves in any language

Charla is genuinely multilingual: it understands and answers in any language, following the language of whoever is asking. A single assistant serves one customer in Portuguese and another in English or Spanish with no extra configuration.

How do you improve the assistant over time?

Charla also offers features to track and refine service: conversation satisfaction ratings (CSAT), to measure how people perceive each answer, and brand customization, to align the assistant with your company's visual identity (features proposed for your review).

Bringing it all together (agentic retrieval, a knowledge base with hybrid search, built-in tools, skills and MCP connections, multichannel presence, and multilingual support), Charla stops being “just another chatbot” and becomes the foundation your company builds AI assistants on that genuinely solve problems.
